چکیده

Although various individual studies have evaluated the correlation between X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) polymorphisms and cervical cancer, the current results remain inconclusive. Therefore, we performed a pooled analysis based on Chinese individuals to provide comprehensive data on the association between XRCC1 Arg399Gln, Arg194Trp, Arg280His polymorphisms and cervical cancer risk. Studies were identified using PubMed and Chinese databases through July 2016. A total of ten studies with 2049 cervical cancer cases and 2922 controls were included in this meta-analysis. It revealed that XRCC1 Arg399Gln and Arg194Trp polymorphisms were significantly associated with an increased risk of cervical cancer in our study. No significant association was observed between XRCC1 Arg280His and cervical cancer in all the models. In conclusion, this metaanalysis suggests that XRCC1 Arg399Gln and Arg194Trp polymorphisms may be associated with cervical cancer risk in Chinese individuals, while Arg280His polymorphism might not be a risk factor for cervical cancer.

Association between XRCC1 polymorphisms and the risk of cervical cancer: a meta-analysis based on 4895 subjects

The present meta-analysis was intended to explore the relationship between the X-ray repair cross complementing 1 (XRCC1) polymorphisms (Arg194Trp, Arg280His and Arg399Gln) and cervical cancer risk. Several electronic databases were searched systematically and bibliographies of relevant papers were identified carefully. Then, a meta-analysis was performed based on eligible studies in various ge...

BACKGROUND Previous studies investigating the association between X-ray repair cross-complementation group 1(XRCC1) polymorphisms and cervical cancer (CC) risk has provided inconsistent results. The aim of our study was to assess the association between the XRCC1 gene Arg399Gln, Arg194Trp, Arg280His polymorphisms and risk of CC. METHODS Two investigators independently searched the Medline, Em...

Association of XRCC1 gene polymorphisms and pancreatic cancer risk in a Chinese population.

We conducted a case-control study to assess the role of the XRCC1 Arg399Gln, Arg280His, and Arg194Trp gene polymorphisms in pancreatic cancer susceptibility in a Chinese population. A total of 152 patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and 264 control subjects were enrolled in this study between March 2012 and October 2014. XRCC1 Arg399Gln, Arg280His, and Arg194Trp were genotyped using the p...

Association of Arg194Trp, Arg280His and Arg399Gln Polymorphisms in X-Ray Repair Cross-Complementing Group 1 Gene and Risk of Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma in Iran

Background: X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) gene is a DNA repair gene and its non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) may influence DNA repair capacity which has been considered as a modifying risk factor for cancer development. Methods: A case-control study was conducted to investigate impact of three frequently studied polymorphisms (Arg194Trp, Arg280His and Arg3...
